Welcome to On the Line News.com

This Web site was created by nonunion autoworkers, in conjunction with the UAW, to provide a forum for autoworkers around the country to begin a dialogue. At our facilities we often hear about the auto industry, but we do not always hear the whole story. We hope to provide the other half of that story.

We want to keep everyone informed about the latest news from the industry and create a vehicle for sister facilities and autoworkers around the country, both union and nonunion, to share ideas and information.

Why is there a need for this Web site now? We need this Web site because we are isolated. The only information we get about other auto facilities or our sister facilities comes from the company. This Web site is provided to give a counter balance to that information. We think corporate management at our various plants has a global plan and workers need one, too. The first step of that plan is exchanging information.

We all have the same goals:

• provide for our families
• ensure the longevity of our jobs
